RTC Battery Specifications

The GCM uses a 3V, 12.5mm, 48 mAh Lithium coin cell to provide backup power to the real-time clock circuit.

Approved replacement parts include the following:
  • PANASONIC BR1225
  • RAYOVAC BR1225
  • RAYOVAC BR1225X-B
  • RAYOVAC BR1225X-BA

The rated operating temperature of BR series batteries is typically -30 to +80/85C, depending on the model. Battery electrolyte leakage can be considerable when stored or operated at high temperatures for extended periods of time. Discuss with Eurotech using FB series or other such batteries if your end product will operate under such conditions.

The GCM can be operated without a working battery in place. In such a case, it will not retain its time and date when primary power is disconnected.
